Uko Wapi? was awarded 1st Place (Hesse, Germany) and 2nd Place Overall in the just concluded European Satellite Navigation Competition 2014. The European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) was started in 2004 and has since grown into a leading global network of innovation and expertise in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Its annual search for new services, products and business innovations in this sector is designed to encourage the use of satellite navigation in everyday life.

The coveted prize was handed out during a colourful Awards Ceremony held at the Deutsche Telekom AG – Hauptstadtrepräsentanz in Berlin, Germany. Winning 2nd Place out of 434 submissions in the ESNC is certainly no small feat. The winning ideas were selected by an expert panel of judges from the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) among others.

This truly awesome experience served to motivate the Uko Wapi Team as well as validate the outstanding potential of the business idea. Naturally, such an achievement makes us very proud, but none of this would have been possible were it not for the men and women who believed in our humble idea. We’d like to dedicate this award (and hopefully many more to come) to you, our supporters.

Many thanks :-)
